travelling experience: Belgium

In my bicycle trip through Europe I will start with crossing Belgium, at the moment I will leave Antwerpen in a few minutes.

This will be my first blog so first of all, let me tell you something about myself.

My name is Mark and I'm 18 years old.
I was born in Amsterdam, my mom is from the Czech republic. I speak Dutch, Czech, German French and English and I hope this will help me in my bicycle trip through Europe.

(please tell me if you find any obvious mistakes in my articles, helps me out a lot. Thanks)

First thing that jumped of the map was the amount of nice people, everywhere I was treaten nice and polite. I guess that its just me but I always considered the Belgium people not as the smartest in the world, but I had some pretty interesting conversations about website development with some students that I met in a pub.

Over all, the country is very nice, I guess you can compare the environment to the main part of Europe. The food was good, my hotel was pretty cheap. One more thing that was kind of a suprise for me, was that some parts of Belgium were actually pretty poor. Mainly in 'Antwerpen', everywhere the remains from the wealth in the beginning of the 20th century were visible in the form of abandoned fabriques.

274 km.

And remember!

Going by bicycle makes you really 'experience' the country

Heading towards Nice!

It has been already two days ago since I left Antwerpen.

Have had loads of rain so I decided to take a hotel in Paris instead begging for a sleepingplace at a farm.

Paris is beautifull, and my vieuw over the city is amazing from my hotelroom. Even though I travel a lot through Europe I never have been in paris before.
And I have no idea if Paris is a good place to go out or not. And I might stay one more night because I'd love to see more of this city, I have to keep in mind that I have another 2000 kilometers (1200 miles) to go.

I seriously have no idea what my next stop is going to be, all I know that the day after tomorrow the wetter is going to change.

Tell me if you find any obvious mistakes in my artikles, really helps me out.

432 km.
